KOPILOT.ID — Emergency Medical ID App
KOPILOT.ID pairs a mobile app with an NFC tag built into sports gear — so when someone can’t speak for themselves, a medic can tap the tag and instantly see the medical information that matters. The app is where that profile gets created, edited, and pushed onto the tag.
What the app does:
- Build and edit an emergency medical ID profile
- Write it onto an NFC tag in a helmet or gear
- Manage multiple gear items and tags from one account
- Read medical data offline, straight off the tag
- Sync the tag whenever the profile changes
Make the app equally intuitive for two different users — athletes who set it up once, and medics who have seconds to find what they need in a crisis — building on screens the client’s team had already prototyped, within their existing brand system and the tag’s limited storage.
Athletes and adventure enthusiasts across every sport where people already wear a helmet — motorcycling, cycling, skiing, snowboarding. A fast, low-friction way to record medical information so they worry less while doing something risky, knowing the right people will be informed if something goes wrong.

A fast, low-friction way to record medical information so they worry less while doing something risky, knowing the right people will be informed if something goes wrong.
An NFC tag carries that information, readable with a single tap. The app is built for fast edits, so updates sync straight to the tag. And the medical data lives on the tag itself, working fully offline.
Built around one feeling: protection. It’s rarely the injured person who taps the tag — it’s the friend riding beside them. That gave us our archetype, the Explorer: don’t stay home, just go a little safer.
KOPILOT gives that “yes” — by being always there.
Real dirt, motion, and altitude — motocross tracks, mountain ridgelines — grounded with dust and scratch textures. The tag itself, a small red square, recurs as the product’s visual signature.
We chose Elza for the same reason: it’s a neo-grotesque built to be “silent.” No ornamentation, no personality competing with the content — just clean geometry that stays legible whether someone is calmly filling out their profile or a stranger is scanning a screen in a stressful moment. Bold weights carry structure and hierarchy without needing colour or decoration to do it.
The palette leans almost entirely on neutral greys, with one accent colour reserved for anything that represents the physical tag or a critical action. In an emergency-adjacent product, colour needed to calm rather than compete — so the interface itself stays quiet, and the one accent stands out precisely because it’s used so sparingly. It marks the tag, the primary actions, and nothing else, so a user’s eye always knows where “KOPILOT.ID” is on the screen.
Sharp corners throughout keep the product feeling precise and dependable rather than soft or playful — right for a tool people trust with their safety. Photography leans into real dust, scratch, and motion textures instead of clean studio shots, grounding the brand in the terrain where it’s actually used. Icons and the tab bar stay flat and minimal, with one accent marking only what’s active.
An app that turns being found and understood — when you can’t speak for yourself — into something as ordinary as checking a helmet before a ride.
The red square stays fixed in the top-right corner no matter how far you scroll — the one element on screen that never moves, echoing the idea that Kopilot is always by your side. But it isn’t just decoration sitting still: what’s inside it changes with context, becoming a plus on My Gears, a pencil on Medical ID, or a filled tab marker in the navigation bar.
Same shape, same position, different job on every screen — the tag’s presence stays constant while its meaning adapts to whatever the user is actually trying to do.
The layout puts the two different users of this app on the same screen without either one getting in the other’s way: content stays left-aligned for calm, unhurried reading, while the one thing that matters most in a hurry — the tag, the primary action — sits fixed in the same top-right spot on every screen.
An athlete filling in their profile at home reads it like any other app; a medic glancing at a phone in an emergency doesn’t have to search, because the one red mark on the screen is always exactly where it was last time. Same layout, two very different reading speeds — that’s the design mission solved in a single, repeatable pattern rather than two separate flows.
